The Camas Educational Network (CEN), located in Eugene,
Oregon, USA, is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting and encouraging
interest in field-based approaches to learning in primary and secondary education.
Our focus is on education, preservation and mitigation of natural resources.
We provide students hands-on
learning in the field.
Our school campuses are developed upon historic wetlands. Our campus is the wetland
system. A single wetland, regardless of size, is a microcosm of biological and
chemical cycles, a complete functioning ecosystem that provides a web of life
for all surounding species, including humans. Imagine the learning
opportunity this landscape provides.

A
short walk out the door of the classroom opens up endless opportunities for students
to participate in hands-on field study on myriad subjects that would otherwise
be learned from a book or recreated in a laboratory.
